“Becoming Accountable In Healthcare,” hosted by St. Vincent Health/Ascension Health, Indianapolis. Scottsdale Institute’s Annual Fall Forum, held October 6 – 7, 2011, at the brand-new JW Marriott
in Indianapolis, brought us to a large faith-based health system that is focused on mission as
it moves forward like other SI organizations toward accountable care. SI Chairman Stan Nelson
introduced Vincent Caponi, CEO of St. Vincent Health and Ministry Market Leader-Indiana/
Wisconsin, Ascension Health, who welcomed 100 executives from SI member organizations and
sponsors to discuss how health systems can use IT to become accountable in healthcare and position
themselves for emerging payment systems based on value rather than fee for service. Alan Snell, MD,
CMIO at St. Vincent Health, was a gracious and charming Master of Ceremonies.
