Paul Weaver
Paul Weaver is Cerner’s Vice President of User Experience and Human Factors Research. Having joined the organization June 2016; his primary responsibility is working with our clients to help ensure that we achieve the best possible user experience.
Prior to joining Cerner, Paul has enjoyed an extensive career of over twenty years in both design and project management, predominantly in the video game industry, but also in the fields of Education, Language Learning and Serious Games. Paul started his career at Rare and Nintendo in 1995, codesigning Donkey Kong Country 3 and from there he has worked at some of the world’s most prolific game studios, including Ion Storm, Visual Concepts and Junction Point, where as well as being responsible for the studio at the executive level, he also directed Disney’s best-selling single platform title of all time, Disney Epic Mickey.
As well as his game industry successes, Paul has had notable accomplishments in more serious industries, including the creation of a line of children’s education apps, the redesign of Rosetta Stone’s flagship language learning app, a VR medical study related to pain management and the creation of a simulation for the US Navy to help train crewmen on the launch sequence of planes from an aircraft carrier.
