VP & CISO at AdventHealth

Russ Walker has worked in the IT industry for 33 years, the last 23 years have been exclusively focused on building Information Security & IT Risk Management, primarily in the Healthcare space.  During this time he has worked as the CISO, either on a full time basis or on an interim basis for PacifiCare Health plans, Kaiser Permanente, Starbucks Coffee Company, Baylor Scott and White and Adventist Health systems where he currently serves as the Vice President and CISO.  In this capacity he leads a team of 65 security professional who are responsible for building an organization wide Information Security Program that is based on the HiTrust Common Security Framework (CSF).

Adventist Health Systems employs more than 80,000 people, generates revenues in excess of $ 12 billion per year and owns and operates more than 52 hospitals and 650 physician practices across 10 states located in the Central and South East US.  Adventist Health Systems is planning to double in size over the next 7 years.
