Lisa Brandt was appointed to her current role as Vice President, Population Health at IU Health in January, 2018 after serving as Service Line Executive, Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, from the Fall, 2011. She is currently responsible for delivering high value care to a defined population while reducing utilization and cost of care and improving patient health and outcomes. She was previously responsible for the strategic direction for volume growth, value delivery and system synergy across the 14 IU Health system enterprise. As the IU Health enterprise has continued to expand to include new and acquired facilities, she has led numerous strategies and initiatives to facilitate collaboration and alignment. Prior to joining IU Health, Lisa was Chief Operating Officer at Strategic Healthcare Consulting Group.

Lisa Brandt earned her Associate Degree from University of Southern Indiana, her Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University, followed by her Master’s from Ball State University. She started her administrative healthcare career at Lockheed Missile and Space and worked at several academic institutions thereafter: Chabot College, UCSF, University of Illinois, and Northwestern University. She landed back in Indiana at St. Vincent Hospital where she worked for 10 years. At St. Vincent’s she was promoted through the ranks to the position of Executive for Orthopedics and assisted with building an Orthopedic Center in 2006. Lisa then became a COO in a start -up organization that was eventually sold to Mediware. Lisa has a broad range of experiences throughout her career, including quality, process improvement, managed care, surgical services, physician practice management, mergers and acquisitions, JC accreditations, strategic planning, operations, and orthopedic and blood utilization consulting.

With over 25 years of Orthopedic management experience, Lisa has exceptional understanding of physician and multidisciplinary alignment, care design, program development, creating value for her customers and service line leadership. She participates in clinical advisory initiatives related to many product lines in Orthopedics and serves on the Board of Finance for the Safe Sitters. Lisa is also an active and engaged member of many civic boards and ancillary member of AAOS. Lisa is married and the mother of two daughters.
