Chris Eakes, MBA, CPHIMS

Chris Eakes is Director of Population Health, Health Information Exchange and Enterprise Integration for BayCare Health System, a not-for-profit integrated delivery system in the Tampa Bay region.
In his current position, Mr. Eakes has oversight for population health, health information exchange and enterprise integration. He is responsible for defining and driving strategy, planning and execution while enabling like operations as it relates to these subjects. He also plays a significant role in helping shape BayCare’s strategic direction for care management and population health.
Mr. Eakes has served as an executive leader for BayCare Physician Partners, BayCare’s Clinically Integrated Network (CIN) and Accountable Care Organization (ACO), since 2012. He has served in other areas including recruitment, credentialing, governance, contracting, finance/forecasting, and operations to name a few.
Mr. Eakes also helped lead an ambulatory EMR subsidy program at BayCare where he successfully deployed eClinicalWorks to over 600 providers while establishing, at the time, one of eClinicalWorks’ largest community HIE’s.
Prior to joining BayCare in 2008, he held multiple positions at Cerner in the consulting division focused on implementing their Millennium EMR at many medium to large scale hospitals and delivery systems across the Unites States.
Mr. Eakes earned his BA from the University of Georgia and an MBA from the University of South Florida.
