Regional Extension Centers: What your Organization Can Expect

Paul Kleeberg, MD, FAAFP, FHIMSS, Clinical Director, and Susan Severson, Project Director, REACH, the Regional Extension Assistance Center for HIT, provide an overview of one regional extension center’s approach to assisting small hospitals and clinics to adopt and become meaningful users of an electronic health record. This session provides an understanding of the types of facilities that are eligible for the subsidized services, the amount of the subsidies, and how they are tied to milestones. For health systems, this session provides an understanding of which of the facilities in your network may be eligible for these subsidized services and how regional extension center may be able to assist with achieving meaningful use at those sites.
