Elan Hekier is a practicing Pulmonary and Critical Care physician, who is active in both the hospital setting and the outpatient clinic.  He sees patients with everything from sleep disorders to mycobacterial infections and everything in between.

Originally from Los Angeles, he attended UCLA and majored in Biochemistry with a minor in Philosophy.  After completing medical school at Tufts in Boston, he moved to San Diego.  There, he completed his training in Internal Medicine at Scripps Mercy and his Fellowship at UCSD.  During his chief medical resident year, he worked on developing a comprehensive teaching curriculum for the intensive care unit.
