Stacy Bizzell MD

As Chief Medical Information Officer for Bon Secours Mercy Health, Stacy Bizzell, MD, provides strategic and clinical leadership in the use of health information technology to support the Bon Secours mission of excellent clinical care. With 48 hospitals, thousands of providers, over 1,000 points of care and over 60,000 employees across 7 states and two countries, Bon Secours Mercy Health is one of the largest and strongest Catholic health care systems. In her role, she works directly with operational and clinical leaders to identify opportunities for using health information technology to support clinical priorities. She is also an advocate for engaging physicians in the health IT implementation process.
Doctor Bizzell earned her medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and then completed a residency in Internal Medicine from the Greenville Hospital System in Greenville, South Carolina. She practiced Internal Medicine for over 22 years and was the Medical Informatics Officer for the Greenville market of Bon Secours Health System for two years. She then became the Medical Informatics Officer for all of Bon Secours Health System for one year, and then after its merger in 2018 with Mercy Health became the CMIO for all of Bon Secours Mercy Health. She is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Clinical Informatics.
