VP & CMIO (since promoted to SVP Medical Affairs and CMO), Cedars-Sinai Health System

Dr. Riggs is Vice President and Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) for the Cedars-Sinai Health System, Chairman of the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Cedars-Sinai, Chief Medical Strategy Officer and Chief of Staff of the California Rehabilitation Institute.  Dr. Riggs is a Clinical Professor at Cedars-Sinai and a Health Sciences Clinical Professor at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.  Dr. Riggs was the  Site Director for the UCLA Multi Campus PM&R residency program from 1997 – 2016.

In 2017, Dr. Riggs was instrumental in the establishment of the Division of Informatics in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and in the development of our Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) approved Clinical Informatics Fellowship. Further, Dr. Riggs serves on the CSHS Board of Directors and on the Executive Committee of the Board.

Dr.  Riggs has published and lectured nationally and internationally on clinical, operational, and leadership topics in physical medicine and rehabilitation, health services research, and clinical informatics.

Dr. Riggs completed his medical education at the Medical College of Georgia and trained in Philadelphia in conjunction with the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Riggs is Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Clinical Informatics.
