Sachin D. Shah, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics and Associate Chief Medical Information Officer at the University of Chicago Medicine. Dr. Shah’s portfolio in Clinical Informatics focuses on population health, ambulatory quality, patient engagement, digital health, and predictive analytics. He has expertise in value-based care, ambulatory operations, clinical decision support, advanced analytics, the use of registries to identify and close care gaps, and clinician ease of practice.
A board-certified internist and pediatrician, Dr. Shah sees adult and pediatric patients as a primary care physician at the University of Chicago and as an inpatient general medicine attending at the University of Chicago Hospital. Also, an active clinician educator, Dr. Shah serves as the Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency program and as Core Faculty for the Internal Medicine Residency program at the University of Chicago. He works closely with residents and medical students, emphasizing patient-centered care, clinical reasoning, and evidence-based practice. Dr. Shah went to college at Princeton University, attended medical school at Wayne State University in his hometown of Detroit, and completed his residency training at the University of Rochester Medical Center before joining the faculty at the University of Chicago in 2010.
