Amy Ross

VP, Strategic Planning, University of Chicago Medicine

Amy Ross is the Vice‐President of the Office of Strategic Planning. She joined University of Chicago Medicine (UCM) having prior leadership roles at Northwestern Medicine, NorthShore University Health System and in healthcare consulting at The Chartis Group and Deloitte. Her role at UCM focuses on strategic planning, service line development, and integration activities.

Amy’s experience is in large academic medical centers and health systems where she has focused on strategic planning and service line development. Her roles have included clinical and non‐clinical management across the care continuum, day‐to‐day operations in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, including targeted ambulatory access work, leading the development and planning of the quality and outcomes management program and care coordination activities. Her focus also included ongoing enhancements to overall service line development in financial reporting, funds flow, strategy and marketing efforts.

In addition, Amy spent several years managing and leading assessments of front‐end revenue cycle processes across large hospital systems and AMCs and implementing IT tools for enhanced performance for the end‐user. As part of her revenue cycle work, she led redesign activities in strategic development of regional financial clearance centers and departmental business process redesign for improved efficiency.

Amy holds a Master of Health Administration degree from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management, and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the College of St. Benedict.
