Rima Shah, MD, MBA serves as the Vice President, Department Chief of Primary Health and Virtual for Spectrum Health West Michigan. In her role, Rima provides strategic and clinical leadership for Primary Care, Urgent Care, Occupational Health, and Virual Health in the 13 West Michigan counties served by Spectrum Health. With 555 physicians and advance practice providers, Rima is responsible for leading safe patient care and helping Spectrum Health to deliver on its vision of personalized care made simple, affordable and exceptional.
Dr. Shah started at Spectrum Health in 2004 as Internal Medicine Residency Core Faculty.
Rima has been in various leadership roles. She also served as Associate Program Director IM Residency, Associate Professor Michigan State University, and Division Chief Primary Care. Rima assumed the role of Vice President, Department Chief of Primary Health in 2019 and Virtual Health in 2020.
Rima and her operational dyad are leading Value transformation in Primary Care as well as Virtual strategy for Spectrum Health West Michigan.
Rima Shah lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan with her husband Viqar, her 14 year-old daughter Summer, and 11 year-old son Zain.
