Network Management: A Strategic Approach to Value-based Care

Matthew Penziner, Executive Director, NYUPN Clinically Integrated Network.  For NYUPN, keeping costs down and quality high meant keeping more of its attributed patients seeing NYUPN physicians. To influence patients to utilize “domestic” primary care physicians, specialists and facilities, NYUPN worked with patients’ greatest influencers: physicians. Attendees will gain insight into how NYUPN was able to provide care at the right time, by the right clinician in the right setting by closely monitoring and analyzing out-of-network utilization patterns sometimes referred to simply as “leakage.”
