Cherian Portz, PMP, System Director ePMO & Strategic Planning, and Jodie Gardner, PMP, Manager, ePMO Quality & Process Manager, Ministry Health Care. Founded in 2004, the Ministry Health Care (MHC) Project Management office began with a focus on information technology projects to further improve the organization’s allocation of capital and resource management within two of the organization’s fifteen hospitals. Over the past 10 years, with support from MHC senior leaders, the MHC Enterprise Project Management Office (ePMO) has expanded the use of project management discipline throughout the enterprise to further improve the success of projects. In 2013, the MHC ePMO began the transformation journey through full integration with the strategic planning function and providing project management support for strategic growth initiatives. Through a project leadership training curriculum of Project Management Essentials and a mentoring program for all new Project Managers, the MHC ePMO has achieved best in class results in project delivery. Averaging 90% of projects fully meeting at least 75% of their objectives, 71% of projects coming in with a +/- 12% of capital budget, and 69% of their projects having 0-1 scope changes through FY15. Cherian and Jodie review the MHC ePMO structure and how they are involved in strategic planning throughout MHC.
