SI 2019 Annual Conference | IT Models for the Future

April 10, 2019 - April 12, 2019

The future was on the minds of CEOs and other health-system leaders from Scottsdale Institute member organizations as they tackled consumerism, digital health and even the politics of healthcare at the Camelback Inn in Scottsdale, Arizona during our 26th Annual Conference.  See the SI 2019 Annual Conference Summary for more details!

The healthcare industry is in the midst of transforming itself into a consumer-centric industry.  Health systems and insurance companies are partnering with pharmacy-related retailers in the race to own consumer convenience; digital health apps are appearing on smartphones with ties to consumer electronics companies, hospitals, doctors, and payors; and new models of primary care are sprouting up promising to deliver concierge-type Healthcare as a Service, through subscription models or company-run health clinics.

Who will win the hearts and minds – and pockets – of the healthcare consumer? What is the end game for these large-scale horizontal and vertical integrations?  Will they yield the economies of scale and reduction of duplication that we are seeking to reduce overall healthcare costs? What is the resulting impact on consumer access, personalized care, and overall community well-being? What of the adage that “healthcare is local” given this quest to be big? In the words of last year’s CEO panelist, Rod Hochman, “we need to be big and small at the same time,” but how do we do that well?

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This conference is an interactive experience for Scottsdale Institute member executives interested in how others plan to meet the requirements of a reformed healthcare environment, and in sharing their own plans and strategies for doing so, with a special emphasis on the Information Technology aspects.

Member officers, trustees and other administrative and clinical executives are invited. As leaders in their respective markets and in IT-enabled performance improvement, SI members share best practices and learn from their peers.

SI conferences are intimate sessions, designed for member executives who benefit from peer collaboration, information sharing and networking. Our platform is more “participation” and less “presentation,” so come prepared for relaxed, informal and highly interactive sessions with senior management teams from other leading health systems.

This conference is offered for SI member executives. While the conference fee is included in SI membership dues, attendees are responsible for their own hotel and travel expenses.
