University Health conducted a comprehensive twelve (12) week review of their Emergency Department, Patient Throughput, Care Coordination, Patient Discharge, Perioperative, and CDI departments to identify opportunities to enhance their clinical performance, remove excess days to open up “hidden” capacity, and support better patient outcomes.  John and Loren describe the methodology and approach, and lessons learned along the way, to identify clinical performance opportunities and support “elbow to elbow” clinical, operational, and organizational change.
