0

COVID-19 has drastically changed the workplace, and healthcare IT/IS is no exception. At the Scottsdale Institute’s Affinity Group Meeting on August 30, 2022, Joel McFadden, System Director-IT Operations at Intermountain Healthcare, will lead a discussion on IT turnover trends and retention strategies.

Findings from SI’s survey of 35 healthcare IT/IS respondents revealed an 11% turnover rate, with the highest turnover in application support, technical infrastructure, and other roles. Two-thirds of people were leaving for other healthcare jobs, and reasons included retirement, poor ops planning/excessive growth, WFH, and compensation/promotion opportunities.

Retention strategies included remote work, improving the employee experience, increasing pay and flexibility, and implementing talent engagement programs. Additionally, respondents are looking for strategic meetings to bring people in to collaborate and create moments of engagement.

Don’t miss out on this crucial dialogue. Join Joel McFadden and other healthcare leaders on August 30, 2022 to discuss how to best manage and improve IT turnover and retention.
