Marisol De Leon, PharmD, MBA

Marisol De Leon, PharmD, MBA is the Director of Pharmacy Operations at the University of Maryland Medical Center, which is the flagship hospital of the University of Maryland Medical System.
She received her Bachelors of Pharmaceutical Sciences and her Doctorate of Pharmacy degrees from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University. She then completed her Master of Business Administration from the Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
She has served as Adjunct Clinical Faculty in the Department of Clinical and Administrative Sciences of Notre Dame of Maryland University. She has been preceptor with the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland Experiential Learning program of the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.
She oversees the daily operations of multiple inpatient pharmacies and Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center clinics. In her role she supports the implementation of medication related initiatives at the University of Maryland Medical Center and works with diverse interdisciplinary teams to promote patient safety, performance improvement and professional growth. Marisol and her team developed pharmacy workflows and training for inpatient operations and COVID-19 vaccine clinics which have been replicated by other University of Maryland System hospitals.
She is very active professionally in the state chapter of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacist, the Maryland Society of Health-System Pharmacy. Professional interests include Pharmacy Operations, Leadership Development, Human Resources, Pharmacy Technician career growth and Performance Improvement. Much of her work focuses on advancing the profession of pharmacy in the continually evolving healthcare landscape. Personal interests include hiking the outdoors, running 5K’s and enjoying a good Boston Red Sox game.
