Dr Denkinger is the former Chief Medical Informatics Officer for Centura Health, a health system that provides care across Colorado and western Kansas. He was responsible for the planning and implementation of information systems used in the clinical environments and facilitating alignment between the clinical strategic plan and the IT plan. The CMIO provides leadership for the implementation, advancement and optimization of all IT related clinical systems, including the Electronic Health Record (Epic), leveraging predictive analytics, population health metrics and transformative Physician and Patient engagement.
Marshall has been involved with Clinical Informatics for 10 years and assumed the CMIO role during 2018. He is an experienced clinician in the Emergency Department and a Physician Executive, with 28 years of increasing responsibility for leadership, operational excellence and transformation, clinical development and excellence, healthcare informatics, teaching, business development and community focus. Dr Denkinger received his undergraduate degree in Geology and Geophysics from Princeton University and his graduate medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School.
In addition to his Medical Informatics work, Dr Denkinger is the executive sponsor and a principal investigator for the High Altitude Research Center at St Anthony Summit Medical Center, Frisco, CO, where he practiced for more than 20 years.
On the rare occasions when Marshall does not answer his phone, he is likely in a “no service” location skiing or mountain biking near his home in Silverthorne, CO.
