MaryAnn Connor is Director of Nursing Informatics and Chief Nursing Informatics Officer at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. As a member of the executive nursing leadership team, she collaborates with her executive nursing colleagues and with other clinical, technical and administrative leaders to execute center-wide strategies that leverage innovative technology to advance the efficiency and accuracy of clinician practice.
In this role, she has developed and leads a team of board-certified nurse informaticists and technical specialists who translate complex clinical processes to align with the right technology.
Examples of these are: closed loop medication administration, clinical alarm management, sepsis risk, advanced scheduling/payroll, nursing mobility, clinical documentation across the care continuum and device integration.
Her previous roles include oncology staff nurse, clinical research nurse at the National Institutes of Health, nursing clinical instructor and nurse leader.
An established adjunct professor at New York University (NYU), Ms. Connor teaches graduate level nursing informatics students. She is an active member of HIMSS and AMIA and co-chair of the New York State HIMSS Nursing Committee. She received a BSN and MSN from Adelphi University and a Post –Masters Certificate in Nursing Informatics from NYU.
Ms Connor maintains active board certifications in Nursing Informatics and is a Certified Professional in Health Information Management Systems (CPHIMS).
Her focus includes interoperability and leveraging innovative digital solutions that align with and translate evidence-based practice of nurses. In doing so, she and her team strive to develop technology that enables the nurse to practice at the highest level of their license with metrics of patient outcomes and quality of care delivery.
