Dr. Michael Simons presently serves the Medical Director of Banner Telehealth. In this capacity, he is charged with serving as a resource for medical matters, as well as working with his administrative dyad partner to develop those strategies, policies and practices to ensure the highest quality and efficacy for existing and putative Telehealth programs. He has served in this capacity since October 2017.

Dr. Simons joined Banner Health 14 years ago, and during his tenure, he has served in a number of leadership positions, including: Medical Director of Critical Care Services at Banner Estrella Medical Center, Assistant System Medical Director of Critical Care and Clinical Chair for the BMG Department of Acute Care Medicine. In addition, he has served in a leadership role for a number of system and strategic initiative teams, including: COVID and Ebola response, sepsis, delirium, observation and the Critical Care Clinical Consensus group.

Dr. Simons is an intensivist by avocation, and continues to clinically practice in Banner Tele-ICU program.
