Nicole is the Director of Nursing Informatics for BayCare Health System. Ms. Gitney achieved her Bachelors of Science from the University of South Florida and attained her Masters in Healthcare Informatics from Walden University. In 2008, she was selected as a nurse leader to develop the Cerner EMR for BayCare Health System. Nicole has since then specialized in design, workflow, implementation, and optimization of clinical technology systems. Not only has she focused on EMR implementations, she has experience with the implementations of a myriad of programs related to clinical practice, including rounding software, patient engagement and education tools, infusion management integration, nurse call systems and mobile platforms for clinical communication and documentation. Throughout her career, Nicole has worked with individual departments and nurse leaders to create innovative ways to utilize technology in the clinical setting. This has included encouraging data driven decision making, utilizing evidence based practice and encouraging standardization across departments as well as the health care system.
