Dr. Bernard is the Chief Medical Information Officer and has participated extensively in leveraging information technology since 2011. He has served on state information technology committees since 2007 and currently serves on the clinical board of the Kentucky Health Information Exchange (KHIE). Dr. Bernard is an associate professor for the Department of Pediatrics in the Heinrich A. Werner Division of Pediatric Critical Care. Dr. Bernard earned his M.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School after completing his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering at Southern Methodist University. He is board-certified in Clinical Informatics, in addition to his board certifications in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care.
