Tom brings more than 38 years of experience in the healthcare industry to Inspira Health. In his current role as Vice President and Chief Information Officer, he is responsible for leading the Information Systems function for the network, integrating new technologies which enhance patient experience and quality, developing a public health information exchange and implementing innovative new technologies for providers, patients and community members. He also leads the information systems, communications and bio-medical engineering departments in other strategic clinical and financial related imperatives.

Tom serves on Inspira’s Executive Team. He is also the current President of NJSHINE, a public Health Information Exchange in South Jersey. Since joining Inspira in 2008, Tom has grown and expanded the capabilities of the Information Systems Department significantly. Under his leadership, Information Systems has received multiple national recognitions as a “Most Wired” hospital and health system and was named “Best Hospital IT Department” by Healthcare IT News for three consecutive years.

Prior to joining Inspira, Tom served as Vice President of Information Services at Virtua Health. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Administrative Systems Management and Accounting from Drexel University and an MBA from Ellis University. Tom is very active in the New Jersey and Delaware Valley Healthcare Community and Nationally. He is a frequent speaker on various topics including cloud computing, electronic medical records, networking, communications, health information exchanges and patient engagement. He is a member of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), and a past president of the Delaware Valley Chapter of HIMSS. Tom also serves on the Board of Goodwill Industries of Southern New Jersey and Philadelphia, PhillyCIO Advisory Board and on the Academic Advisory Committee of Rowan College of Cumberland County in Vineland New Jersey.
