Before COVID-19 arrived in Ohio, University Hospitals began planning for the coronavirus with other health systems, public and private entities, and community partners. Leveraging the breadth of knowledge and expertise across the health system and community, UH planned and prepared for a number of scenarios that could occur bot inside traditional care settings and beyond. This approach positioned University Hospitals to take a leadership role throughout the region and state as the pandemic continues to evolve. One example of the leadership UH has brought both regionally and across the state is an approach to supporting some of the most vulnerable populations in congregate living facilities through the creation of the Intercept Program which brings care and clinical expertise to congregate living facilities and patients in the community. ...more
